Brantford Girls CYO Basketball awarded Jumpstart Charities Sport Relief fund

The Brantford Girls CYO Basketball Organization has been awarded the Canadian Tire Corporation’s Jumpstart Charities Sport Relief Fund that has gotten kids back into sports and play this year.

“With their (Jumpstart’s) support, we are able to help offset the rising costs of facilities for our rep basketball program due to the pandemic,” says Tammy Ryan, President of the girls program.  “Unfortunately, we were only able to offer a rep program as there are no facilities to further support the larger House League Program.  We really tried to make it work but with no access to school’s and only a few community gyms, we wanted to ensure we could get some players back on the court.”

Covid has continued to place a huge strain on the ability to offer programming to all of our 350+ plus players.  With limited facilities, the Girls Program was able to offer programming for 130 players ages 7-18.  The awarded grant of $5,000 will directly support each team which will help offset the costs of the increased rental facilities.

It is estimated that the Jumpstart Program has assisted over 1,300 organizations in 2021 reaching over 225,000 children.  Understanding that Covid has taken a toll on the mental and physical well-being of children, programs have never before been in so much need for children.

Brantford CYO Girls Basketball Organization launches Rebrand

Brantford CYO Girls Basketball Organization launches Rebrand

We have some BIG news!

After many years, the Brantford CYO Girls Basketball Organization is releasing a NEW, rebranded, Basketball identity!

Our rebrand includes a new logo, colors, and font. You’ll soon see our new look on our website, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and, on the soon to be released, rep uniforms.

Brantford is known for its strong roots in competitive sports and our new colours now proudly tie into our community. We are proud of our rich history and deep community roots so we will retain the logo’s core element, the Falcon which signifies strength and ambition .

We believe this new look better represents the evolution of our organization and amplifies our values of building character, self-esteem, and self-awareness as well as the qualities and skills that are required to succeed on and off the court.

Our Executive Team is thankful to Octopus Red for their guidance and the development of our logo, making this rebrand possible.

We’re looking forward to getting back on the court this season…especially looking so sharp.

Vaccine Update

Vaccine Update

As you are aware, the government of Ontario and the OBA have outlined requirements for proof of vaccination. We must follow these requirements and we are mandating them for the 2021/22 season.
As a program, we will continue to follow all Provincial and OBA requirements as they are released. In order for players, coaches, parents and spectators to participate, they must be fully vaccinated prior to the start of the OBA season. Our season will tentatively start in November 2021.
Please be aware that current vaccine requirements and COVID protocols are subject to change. We will advise of any changes as they occur.
It is our hope that everyone remains safe as we get back to play and that everyone follows all health regulations as they are released.
Here’s to a safe and healthy 2021-2022 season!
